Google Limits Meta’s Access to Gemini AI Over Capacity Constraints

Jarida Report

Google has reportedly restricted Meta’s access to its Gemini artificial intelligence models after the social media company requested more computing capacity than the tech giant could provide, the Financial Times reported on Sunday.

According to the report, Alphabet-owned Google informed Meta around March that it would be unable to meet the full Gemini capacity it had requested. The shortfall reportedly disrupted and delayed several of Meta’s internal AI projects.

The report added that a number of Google’s other customers have also been affected by capacity limitations, although to a lesser extent. Meta was said to be particularly impacted because of its exceptionally high demand for Google’s AI models.

Reuters could not independently verify the report. Neither Google nor Meta immediately responded to requests for comment outside normal business hours.
