President of the United States Donald Trump commuted the over seven-year prison sentence of George Santos, a former U.S Representative for fraud and identity theft, ordering his release.
George Santos, who was kicked out of Congress after a short, scandal-filled time, pled guilty to inflating fundraising numbers and falsifying donor names to get Republican Party Financial support during the election cycle in 2022. He was elected that year to represent a section of New York.
