Five Terrorists Killed in Intelligence-Based Operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur

Jarida Report

Security forces killed five terrorists during a high-tempo intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district, the military’s media wing said on Tuesday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces also recovered and destroyed a significant cache of weapons, ammunition and improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during the operation.

Following the engagement, security personnel launched sanitisation operations in the area to locate and eliminate any remaining threats.

The ISPR said the operation was conducted as part of Operation Shaban, an ongoing counterterrorism campaign targeting militant networks operating in Balochistan.

The federal government last year began officially referring to terrorist groups operating in the province as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” alleging that they are backed by India as part of a proxy campaign against Pakistan.

The military said counterterrorism operations would continue under the broader Azm-e-Istehkam framework approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan.

Security forces and law-enforcement agencies would maintain operations aimed at eliminating what the ISPR described as foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism across the country, the statement added.
