Security forces killed five terrorists, including a key commander, during an intelligence-based operation in Balochistan’s Panjgur district under Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3, security sources said on Monday.
The operation was conducted in the Sarkeni and Chidgi areas of Panjgur following intelligence reports about the presence of militants there, according to the sources.
Among those killed was a commander identified as Wazir, son of Jamal, who security sources described as a key militant figure.
Security forces also recovered four motorcycles, machine guns, heavy weapons and ammunition during the operation.
The action formed part of the ongoing Operation Rad-ul-Fitna-3, an intelligence-led counterterrorism campaign targeting militant networks operating across Balochistan.
The federal government last year began referring to terrorist groups operating in the province as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” alleging that the groups receive support from India.
Security sources said the Panjgur operation was launched on the basis of specific intelligence regarding the presence of militants in the area.
