Farrukh Khokar, 2 Others Get Life Imprisonment in High-Profile Majid Satti Murder Case

Jarida Report

An Additional District and Sessions Court on Tuesday sentenced three men to life imprisonment after convicting them in the high-profile murder of transport union leader and political activist Majid Satti.

The court found Farrukh Khokhar, Amir Hamza and Haidar Ali guilty of murder and related offences in the case registered at Sadiqabad Police Station. Each was also ordered to pay Rs1 million in compensation.

A fourth accused, Waseem, was acquitted after the court granted him the benefit of the doubt.

Following the verdict, police took Farrukh Khokhar into custody from the courtroom, where he had been appearing on bail. The other two convicts, who had been brought from prison for the hearing, were returned to jail to begin serving their sentences.

The case relates to the killing of Majid Satti, who was shot dead by armed assailants in August 2022 within the jurisdiction of Sadiqabad Police Station. Investigators alleged that the murder was planned and carried out over personal rivalries.

Welcoming the verdict, a police spokesperson described the convictions as the result of effective investigation and prosecution.

“Securing severe punishments for culprits in such high-profile cases represents a major victory for truth and justice,” the spokesperson said.
