The Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) police have arrested a suspected operative allegedly working for India’s intelligence agency Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), officials confirmed. Addressing a press conference, Inspector General of Police Liaquat Ali Malik stated that police in Rawalakot carried out a timely operation leading to the arrest of the suspect, identified as Irfan.
According to police, the suspect was involved in reconnaissance of sensitive locations and recording videos, which were then shared with foreign handlers. Authorities further claimed that he was also involved in planning to target military installations and educational institutions.
The IG said the swift action by law enforcement agencies thwarted potential threats and exposed a broader RAW espionage network.
