ISLAMABAD: Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party Chairman and opposition leader Mahmood Achakzai has said he is ready to meet PML-N President Nawaz Sharif in Murree, according to ARY News.
Achakzai called for parliamentary and constitutional supremacy, saying elected representatives should have the authority to make decisions.
He also demanded fresh elections, greater provincial rights and the release of PTI founder Imran Khan, whom he described as a political prisoner.
Achakzai said meaningful talks with the government would require opposition representatives to meet Imran Khan first.
He also rejected the possibility of governor’s rule in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying the opposition would resist such a move.
The opposition leader further said his party does not recognise the government led by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
