On March 28, 2025, Sardar Akhtar Mengal, leader of the Balochistan National Party (BNP-M), reported reaching Kalat during a peaceful march from Wadh to Quetta. The demonstration protests the alleged harassment and recent arrests of Baloch women and children, including Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leaders Dr. Mahrang Baloch and Sammi Deen.Â
Mengal highlighted obstacles encountered en route, such as roadblocks, container placements, and mobile service suspensions, particularly in areas like Bhagbana and Tootak. Despite these challenges, he urged participants to remain peaceful and committed to the cause. The march aims to reach Quetta by tonight.Â
The provincial government, through spokesperson Shahid Rind, stated that internet services were suspended due to security concerns.Â
