Snow White Producer’s Son Blames Rachel Zegler for Film’s Box Office Failure

Jarida Report

Jonah Platt, son of Snow White producer Marc Platt, has criticized lead actress Rachel Zegler for the film’s underwhelming box office performance. He accused Zegler of “narcissism” and of injecting personal politics into the movie’s promotion, particularly highlighting her pro-Palestine social media posts during the film’s marketing campaign.

Reports indicate that Marc Platt traveled to New York to address Zegler’s August 2024 post that included the phrase “free Palestine,” which coincided with the release of the Snow White trailer. Despite pressure from Disney executives, Zegler declined to remove the post.

Jonah Platt expressed frustration over Zegler’s actions, stating that her behavior negatively impacted the film’s success and demonstrated a lack of accountability. He emphasized that while free speech is a right, it can have professional repercussions, especially when personal views overshadow promotional efforts.

The live-action Snow White remake has faced multiple controversies, including debates over casting choices and the portrayal of characters. The film’s reception has been further complicated by political tensions, particularly between Zegler and co-star Gal Gadot, who has been vocal in her support for Israel.
