Kyrgyz President Sadyr Zhaparov arrived in the US state of Utah on Saturday for a working visit that will be followed by his participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, his office said.
During his stay in Utah, Zhaparov is scheduled to meet state officials and examine US experience in areas including tourism and sustainable mountain development.
The Kyrgyz president will then travel to New York, where he is expected to address the high-level General Debate of the UN General Assembly and hold a series of bilateral meetings.
His programme will also include talks with other heads of state as well as executives from major US companies.
World leaders are due to gather in New York next week for the General Assembly’s annual high-level debate.
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres is scheduled to open the high-level General Debate for the final time before the end of his mandate.
The UN General Assembly’s high-level week will run from September 22 to 28.
