German Consul General Thomas E Schultze on Thursday congratulated Pakistan on its 79th Independence Day, highlighting the longstanding friendship between Germany and Pakistan and calling for bilateral relations to be strengthened further.
In his Independence Day message, Schultze said the occasion was an opportunity not only to celebrate Pakistan’s creation but also to recognise the “resilience, ambition and diversity” of its people.
The consul general noted that Pakistan and Germany will mark 75 years of diplomatic relations on October 15, describing the anniversary as a “monumental” milestone in the two countries’ shared history.
He pointed out that economic links between the two countries predated formal diplomatic relations, tracing them back to 1922, when Siemens established its first office in Lahore.
“This enduring friendship is built upon three steadfast pillars: reliability, trust, and sustainability,” Schultze said.
He added that durable and sustainable relations helped create “true partnerships and mutually beneficial opportunities” for both countries.
Schultze’s message underscored the depth of Pakistan-Germany ties while expressing support for further expanding bilateral cooperation in the years ahead.
