A police sub-inspector was shot dead by unidentified assailants in Lahore on Tuesday, prompting authorities to launch an investigation into the apparent targeted killing.
The incident occurred within the jurisdiction of Defence C Police Station, where the victim, identified as Sub-Inspector Tahir, was reportedly sitting in the front seat of his car when gunmen opened fire.
According to police, officers later discovered a white car parked along the Lahore Ring Road. Upon inspection, they found the bullet-riddled body of the officer inside the vehicle.
A heavy police contingent and a forensic team were dispatched to the scene to collect evidence, while investigators began probing the circumstances surrounding the attack and the identity of those responsible.
