Election Commission Notifies 21 Successful GB Assembly Candidates

The Election Commission Secretariat Gilgit-Baltistan has officially notified the successful candidates elected to the Gilgit-Baltistan Assembly following the 2026 general elections.

According to a notification issued by Chief Election Commissioner Raja Shahbaz Khan, the declaration was made under Section 98(1) of the Elections Act, 2017, and Rules 94 and 96 of the Election Rules, 2017, after completion of all legal formalities and compilation of the official results.

The notification states that Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) won the highest number of general seats, while candidates from Pakistan Muslim League (N), Majlis Wahdat-e-Muslimeen (MWM), the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party (IPP), and independent candidates also secured representation.

The Election Commission said notifications have been issued for 21 elected members. Results for three constituencies remain withheld in compliance with orders of the Supreme Appellate Court Gilgit-Baltistan.
