The Sindh Cabinet on Wednesday approved the provincial budget for fiscal year 2026-27 ahead of its formal presentation in the Sindh Assembly.
The approval was granted during a cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
Speaking at the meeting, Shah said the budget reflects the government’s commitment to improving public services and ensuring that all segments of society benefit from development initiatives. He added that, on the direction of Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, special emphasis has been placed on poverty reduction and social welfare programmes.
Officials said the province’s total budget outlay is estimated at around Rs3.4 trillion, while the development budget is expected to be lower than that of the current fiscal year.
The budget will now be formally presented in the Sindh Assembly by the chief minister.
