Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu faced sharp criticism on Monday from opposition figures and some political allies following the agreement between the United States and Iran to end the war.
Yair Golan described the accord as “the greatest strategic failure in Israel’s history,” arguing that the agreement had been reached without Israeli involvement.
“Israeli citizens are waking up to an agreement between the United States and Iran made over Israel’s head,” Golan wrote on X.
Calling the development “the culmination of long years of failure,” he accused Netanyahu of presenting a misleading sense of security to the Israeli public.
“Netanyahu is the man who, for years, sold the public a false image of ‘Mr Security’ and in reality became the father of Israel’s greatest strategic failure in its history,” Golan said.
The criticism highlights growing political debate within Israel over the implications of the US-Iran agreement and its potential impact on the country’s security and regional strategy.
