Beaconhouse National University has launched two manuals aimed at tackling substance abuse and mental health challenges among university students, becoming the first higher education institution in Pakistan to formally document and share a comprehensive framework for creating a drug-free and psychologically supportive campus.

The manuals, titled “From Risk to Resilience: BNU Substance Use Control Program” and “Campus Care: A Guide to Psychological First Aid,” were unveiled at a ceremony attended by senior government officials, university leaders, law enforcement representatives and mental health experts.

Among those present were Punjab Senior Minister Marriyum Aurangzeb and Provincial Minister for School and Higher Education Rana Sikandar Hayat, alongside vice chancellors from public and private universities, officials from the Anti Narcotics Force and the Punjab Counter Narcotics Force.

The initiative was developed under the leadership of BNU Vice Chancellor Moeed Yusuf, who described the project as a university-wide effort centred on public service, student wellbeing and campus resilience.
