US forces shot down multiple Iranian one-way attack drones heading toward the Strait of Hormuz on Friday, according to a source familiar with the matter, marking the latest military incident despite reported progress in negotiations between Washington and Tehran.
The source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the drones posed a potential threat to commercial shipping in the area.
Earlier on Friday, US President Donald Trump warned Iran against launching further drone activity targeting vessels attempting to pass through the Strait of Hormuz.
Tehran “better get their act together, and FAST!” Trump said.
