Pakistan Seeks Another Round of US-Iran Peace Talks in Islamabad

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed optimism over a second round of direct talks between the United States and Iran, saying Pakistan remains committed to supporting efforts for lasting regional peace.

In an interview with British newspaper The Sunday Times, the prime minister said Pakistan is being recognised globally as an honest mediator trusted by world leaders. He described the current period as one of the brightest moments in Pakistan’s history and said the entire nation takes pride in the country’s growing diplomatic standing.

Shehbaz Sharif said peace cannot be achieved easily and requires patience, wisdom and difficult decision-making. He added that Pakistan is continuing efforts to facilitate another round of negotiations in Islamabad aimed at securing durable peace.
