The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a fresh weather alert across the country for the period between May 19 and 22.
According to details surfaced on Saturday, the NDMA spokesman said strong winds, thunderstorms, rain and hailstorms are expected in Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan and the northern areas. Rain has also been forecast for Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir.
However, weather conditions across Sindh are expected to remain extremely hot and dry, with a further rise in temperatures likely.
The NDMA has advised the public to avoid unnecessary travel during intense heat or heavy rainfall. Citizens have also been urged to stay away from weak structures, solar panels and electricity poles during windstorms.
