Turbat FC Post Attack Foiled: Two Assailants Killed in Balochistan Security Operation

Jarida Report

On Friday night, May 16, 2025, security forces in Turbat, Balochistan, thwarted an attempted attack on a Frontier Corps (FC) check post by two unidentified armed assailants. The attackers were intercepted and killed in an ensuing encounter in the Sangani Sar area. Their identities have not yet been confirmed.

In a separate incident in Nasirabad, approximately 40 kilometers from Turbat, a grenade attack on a residence injured several individuals, including women and children. The assailants, reportedly on motorcycles, remain unidentified.

Additionally, four Levies personnel were martyred in an armed assault on their check post in the Nasl area of Khuzdar district late the same night.

These incidents occur amid a surge in militant activities across Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, prompting intensified counterterrorism operations by security forces. Earlier in the week, a blast targeted the convoy of PPP MPA Ali Madad Jattak in Quetta, resulting in one fatality and ten injuries; the lawmaker was unharmed.

Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has stated that the ongoing insurgency in the province is an India-backed conflict driven by self-interest rather than a legitimate fight for rights, asserting that it will soon meet the same fate as the Kurdish movement in Turkey.
