At a recent press conference organized by the Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi, renowned satirist Anwar Maqsood urged Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi to reconsider his policies towards Muslims in India and Pakistan. Maqsood emphasized the devastating human cost of war, expressing sorrow over civilian casualties resulting from India’s ‘Operation Sindoor’ and Pakistan’s retaliatory actions. He highlighted the importance of unity and peace, stating, “Today, 250 million people have become soldiers. I don’t have a weapon, but I have the power of the pen.” Maqsood called for restraint and hoped that recent escalations would prompt reflection and a move towards harmony.
