Court Summons Lahore DIG Over Police Videos of Shaved Kite-Flyers

Jarida Report

On April 14, 2025, the Lahore High Court (LHC) summoned Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Operations, Faisal Kamran, to explain the actions of police officers who uploaded videos of individuals accused of kite flying after shaving their heads. Justice Ali Zia Bajwa expressed strong disapproval of this behavior, questioning why the police were engaging in such practices and sharing the videos on social media platforms, including the official Lahore police page. He emphasized that suspects should be punished according to the law and not subjected to public humiliation. The court also directed Punjab Inspector General Dr. Usman Anwar to submit a report on the matter through a senior officer by the following day.
