40 Killed as Passenger Coach Plunges Into Ravine in Balochistan

At least 40 people were killed and eight others injured after a passenger coach travelling from Quetta to Peshawar plunged into a deep ravine in the Danasar area along the Sherani–Zhob Highway on Friday.

According to the Medical Emergency Response Centre (MERC), rescue teams recovered 40 bodies from the crash site, while the injured were shifted to the Trauma Centre in Zhob. Authorities deployed six ambulances, 12 emergency medical technicians (EMTs) and 10 light transport vehicles (LTVs) as part of the rescue operation.

Rescue 1122 Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa spokesperson Bilal Ahmad Faizi said the coach was carrying 48 passengers when it crashed near Zhob. The injured received first aid at the scene before being transferred to the District Headquarters (DHQ) Hospital in Zhob.

Rescue teams from Balochistan and Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, along with the district administration, took part in the emergency response after the accident was reported.
