Jarida Report

Türkiye has stepped up security and transport measures in Ankara ahead of next week’s NATO Leaders’ Summit, introducing temporary air traffic restrictions at Esenboga Airport and deploying thousands of security personnel across the capital.

The 36th NATO Summit of Heads of State and Government will be held on July 7-8, bringing together leaders of 32 NATO member states as well as representatives from nine partner countries.

Addressing a preparatory meeting in Ankara, Interior Minister Mustafa Ciftci said authorities were working in close coordination to ensure the summit is held safely and smoothly.

“We aim to complete the NATO Leaders’ Summit safely and without incident through the comprehensive measures we have put in place,” he said.

According to Ciftci, the enhanced security plan covers the Presidential Complex, ATO Congresium, delegation hotels, Esenboga Airport, major transport routes and key entry and exit points across the city to ensure the safety of participants and the smooth conduct of the summit.
