At least 15 people were killed and 32 others injured when a vehicle carrying workers overturned in eastern Egypt on Tuesday, according to the country’s Health Ministry.
The accident occurred in Ismailia Governorate, where a pickup truck transporting workers overturned, causing a large number of casualties.
The Health Ministry said the latest preliminary toll stood at 15 dead and 32 injured.
Those injured in the crash were transported to hospital for treatment, while authorities continued to assess their conditions and verify details surrounding the accident.
Officials have not yet disclosed what caused the vehicle to overturn.
Egypt has undertaken extensive road modernisation and infrastructure projects in recent years, with local reports indicating that the overall number of road accidents has declined over that period.
