Xi Reaffirms China’s Commitment to ‘National Reunification’ with Taiwan

Jarida Report

Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday reaffirmed Beijing’s “unshakeable” commitment to resolving the Taiwan issue, vowing to take firm action against separatist movements and external interference.

Speaking at a ceremony marking the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Xi said achieving China’s “complete reunification” is a historic mission and a core commitment of the ruling party, according to state news agency Xinhua.

Xi, who also serves as CPC general secretary, pledged to take “resolute actions” against forces advocating Taiwan independence, while opposing foreign interference and advancing Beijing’s reunification agenda.

China considers Taiwan a breakaway province, while Taipei maintains that it is self-governing and rejects Beijing’s sovereignty claims.

Xi also stressed the importance of maintaining long-term prosperity and stability in Hong Kong and Macao, and called for safeguarding China’s sovereignty, security and development interests by upholding the Communist Party’s absolute leadership over the armed forces.
