Taliban cut off the internet in Afghanistan

Today marks the second day of internet cutoff in Afghanistan. The censorship goes beyond political strategy and subtle antics—as Afghanistan blatantly cuts the fibre optic network altogether.

The government began shutting down high-speed internet connections to some provinces earlier in the month to prevent “vice” on the orders of supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada.
