Sri Lanka Clinch T20I Series with Six-Wicket Win Over Pakistan Women

Sri Lanka Women sealed the three-match T20I series with a six-wicket victory over Pakistan Women in the second match at the Rangiri Dambulla International Stadium on Sunday, taking an unassailable 2-0 lead.

Chasing 176, the hosts reached 178-4 in 17.4 overs, with the final match of the series scheduled for Tuesday, August 4, at the same venue.

After opting to bat, Pakistan got off to a strong start as captain Muneeba Ali and Shawaal Zulfiqar shared a 90-run opening stand. Muneeba scored 45 off 30 balls, while Shawaal top-scored with 48 from 35 deliveries.

Eyman Fatima added an unbeaten 30 off 19 balls, helping Pakistan post 175-5. Chamudi Praboda was Sri Lanka’s most successful bowler with 2-27.

Pakistan struck early in the chase, but captain Chamari Athapaththu shifted the momentum with a rapid 40 off 15 balls, featuring five fours and three sixes.

Although Umm-e-Hani claimed 2-28, debutant Sanjana Kavindi scored 46 off 24 balls, while Harshitha Samarawickrama remained unbeaten on 37. Kavisha Dilhari finished on 14 not out as Sri Lanka completed the chase with 14 balls to spare.

The third and final T20I will be played in Dambulla on Tuesday.
