RIC Introduces Advance OPD Appointment System to Reduce Waiting Times

Jarida Report

RAWALPINDI: The Rawalpindi Institute of Cardiology (RIC) has introduced an advance appointment system for its Outdoor Patient Department (OPD) to reduce waiting times and long queues, while ensuring that patients without prior appointments continue to receive medical attention.

According to the hospital administration, separate clinics for walk-in patients will remain operational during the initial phase of the new system. Emergency services for heart patients will also continue around the clock.

Patients who have undergone bypass surgery or angioplasty will be able to schedule their follow-up visits through advance appointments.

The administration said the system aims to improve patient management and provide better medical facilities, particularly for people travelling from distant areas.

It also assured that no patient would be turned away without a check-up.

Additionally, a complaint centre has been established at the hospital to address public concerns and facilitate the resolution of complaints.
