Punjab Education Minister Rana Sikandar Hayat has announced that he will begin teaching students in government schools from the first week of September as part of a new initiative aimed at improving the quality of education.
The minister said he would initially teach English and Chemistry, describing them as his favourite subjects, during visits to schools in Lahore.
According to Hayat, he will teach English at primary schools and Chemistry at high schools, while also conducting lessons in other subjects during his visits.
He added that he plans to visit one school every week without prior notice, where he will both teach students and observe the classroom environment.
“I respect teachers and will feel proud to serve as a teacher,” the minister said.
Hayat said the initiative would help the government assess teaching standards, identify shortcomings in the education system and take steps to improve the quality of instruction in schools.
