PTI’s Gohar Demands Immediate Medical Treatment for Imran Khan, Seeks Enforcement of Supreme Court Order

Jarida Report

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan on Friday expressed serious concern over former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s health, demanding immediate implementation of a Supreme Court order for his transfer to a hospital and the formation of a medical board.

Speaking to journalists outside Parliament House in Islamabad, Gohar said reports about the PTI founder’s condition had caused widespread concern within the party and among the public.

“The reports that are coming about Imran’s health are not encouraging, and our party and the entire nation are worried about this. Imran’s health is our foremost priority, and there will be no compromise on it,” he said.

Gohar revealed that he had submitted a petition to the Supreme Court seeking enforcement of its August 18 order, which he said directed authorities to transfer Imran Khan to a hospital for treatment and establish a medical board to supervise his care.

He added that he had requested an expedited hearing of the petition due to concerns over Khan’s health.

The PTI chairman also confirmed that Barrister Salman Safdar had recently visited Imran Khan at Adiala Jail, where they discussed legal matters relating to his cases. During the meeting, Khan reportedly conveyed instructions concerning those proceedings.

Calling for an easing of political tensions, Gohar urged authorities to prioritise the former prime minister’s medical needs.

“The long march is now over, the provincial government is gone, nothing is happening in parliament, now political tensions should be reduced, and this matter regarding Imran’s health should be resolved now,” he stated.

Gohar further claimed that Imran Khan had been imprisoned for three and a half years in cases he described as politically motivated and without merit.

He criticised the alleged restrictions on Khan’s access to healthcare, family members and legal representatives, describing such treatment as inhumane.

The PTI chairman demanded that Imran Khan’s personal physicians be permitted to examine him without further delay.

He also called for the release of Khan’s sisters, whom he said were currently incarcerated.

Gohar reiterated that ensuring proper medical treatment for the former prime minister remained the party’s foremost priority and insisted that the Supreme Court’s directions should be implemented without delay.
