Jarida Report

The Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) maintained its upward momentum on Thursday, with the benchmark KSE-100 index gaining more than 1,400 points during midday trading as buying interest continued across selected heavyweight stocks.

By around noon, the index had reached 166,830.69 points, reflecting an increase of 1,413.19 points, or 0.85%, compared with Wednesday’s closing level of 165,417.50.

The benchmark climbed as high as 166,868.14 points during the session, while its lowest recorded level stood at 165,613.11.

Market activity remained steady, with approximately 112.76 million shares traded, representing a total traded value of Rs6.84 billion by midday.

Thursday’s gains followed a recovery in the previous session, when the KSE-100 advanced 641 points and moved back above the psychologically important 165,000-point mark after a period of volatility.

Buying activity in selected major sectors helped sustain the rally, allowing the index to move beyond 166,800 points during the session.
