Pakistan Introduces Cashless Payments at All Passport Offices

Jarida Report

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi announced on Wednesday that cashless payment facilities have been rolled out at all passport offices across Pakistan as part of the government’s drive to modernise public services.

In a post on X, Naqvi said applicants would no longer have to stand in long queues or wait for hours to make passport fee payments, describing the initiative as a key reform implemented on the directions of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

The move follows the government’s decision on June 19 to digitise the passport issuance system as part of broader reforms aimed at improving immigration services and curbing fraud.

Under the new system, passport fee payments have been integrated with the Pak-ID platform, replacing the previous cash-based process at passport offices and the online portal.
