Nine police personnel were killed in a terrorist attack on a police post in Balochistan’s Ziarat district following an overnight exchange of fire, authorities said on Monday.
According to police, heavily armed attackers targeted a police post in the Kach Mangi Phase 3 area, triggering a prolonged gun battle with security personnel.
Ziarat Superintendent of Police Abdul Quddus confirmed that nine officers, including two station house officers (SHOs), were killed in the attack.
A search operation has been launched to trace the attackers, while security has been tightened across the area.
