Moldova presses forward on EU path after decisive election win

Jarida Report

After the pro-European Party of Action and Solidarity (PAS) won a clear parliamentary majority, Moldova’s government is moving at pace to fulfil its goal of joining the European Union by 2030. Key reforms are being prioritised in the judiciary, infrastructure, and energy sectors, especially efforts to reduce dependence on Russian energy by importing power from Romania and Ukraine and expanding renewables.

The government is also confronting external threats, including disinformation, vote-buying allegations, and influence campaigns attributed to Russia, which it says tried to undermine the election.
