The Punjab government wants 500 meters each allocated on the both sides of the Rawalpindi Ring Road (RRR) Project for the establishment of economic zones, medical city, tourism, wholesale market and truck terminal. A special meeting was held at the Rawalpindi Development Authority (RDA) Conference Room which was chaired by the RDA Director General Kinza Murtaza, regarding the Working Group on Comprehensive Land Use Planning.
During the meeting, detailed discussions were held on developing a holistic planning framework aimed at decongesting Rawalpindi city and facilitating the establishment of economic zones, medical city, tourism city, expo center, dry port, industrial zones, transport terminals, wholesale markets, agro-forest park, general bus stand, fruit and vegetable market, grain market, and other designated land uses as per calculated demand along the Ring Road corridor.
