Lahore High Court Justice Raheel Kamran Sheikh resigned from his position on Thursday, citing personal reasons for his decision.
Justice Sheikh has sent his resignation to the President of Pakistan, bringing an early end to a judicial tenure that began in May 2021.
He was appointed as a judge of the Lahore High Court on May 7, 2021, and was currently ranked 27th on the court’s seniority list. He would otherwise have remained eligible to serve until his scheduled retirement on January 20, 2036.

Justice Sheikh is the son of prominent lawyer Akram Sheikh, a former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association.

His resignation has been submitted to the president for the formal process required following a superior court judge’s decision to relinquish office.
