A judicial magistrate in Lahore on Friday granted police a five-day physical remand of four suspects arrested in connection with the alleged abduction and sexual assault of two foreign women.
The suspects were produced before Judicial Magistrate Azhar Mahmood at the Cantonment Courts, where the prosecution sought a 14-day remand, arguing that further custody was necessary to investigate the allegations. The court partly accepted the request and approved a five-day physical remand.
The case stems from an FIR registered at Defence C Police Station under Sections 365A (kidnapping) and 375A (rape) of the Pakistan Penal Code, based on the complaint of one of the victims. According to the complaint, the women travelled to Pakistan after being invited by an acquaintance they had met in Singapore in October 2025.
Police rescued the two women on Thursday shortly after receiving an emergency complaint and arrested four suspects as part of the investigation.
Following Friday’s hearing, the accused were returned to police custody for further investigation. The allegations against them have not yet been proven in court.
