KARACHI: Police have arrested two suspected members of an international drug trafficking network during an intelligence-based operation in Gulshan-e-Iqbal, according to ARY News.
SSP East Zubair Nazir Shaikh said the suspects, identified as Fahad and Usama, were arrested following confidential intelligence. Police alleged that they were involved in supplying high-quality cocaine.
A substantial quantity of cocaine, reportedly worth millions of rupees, was recovered from their vehicle near Gulshan Chowrangi. Police said the narcotics had been concealed inside a plastic box, while the vehicle allegedly used for transportation was also seized.
According to SSP East, the suspects used an unusual method to distribute cocaine across Karachi. Members of the network allegedly placed drugs at designated locations and shared videos to communicate their whereabouts. The suspects would then collect the substances from these locations and supply them to different areas of the city.
Police further said payments from drug sales were transferred through online platforms.
A case has been registered against the arrested suspects under the relevant provisions of the Narcotics Act. Police are also working to identify and arrest other alleged members of the network, SSP East said.
