Iran’s Oil Minister said the country generated $18 billion in oil sales during the conflict with the United States and the subsequent ceasefire period.
According to the minister, Iran earned $11.5 billion from oil exports during the fighting, followed by $6.5 billion in revenue during the ceasefire.
The combined total represents more than 60% of the oil revenue projected for Iran’s current fiscal year, the minister said.
The conflict between Iran and the United States began on February 28, following military strikes by the United States and Israel, according to Iranian officials.
A ceasefire was reached in April, bringing an end to most of the hostilities between the two countries.
