Security Forces Kill 16 Militants in Intelligence-Based Operations Across Balochistan

Jarida Report

Pakistan’s security forces have killed 16 militants during ongoing intelligence-based operations in Balochistan, destroying several militant hideouts and recovering weapons and explosives, security sources said on Sunday.

The operations are being conducted under Operation Al-Azm, launched in the wake of recent militant attacks in the province. Earlier, security forces also initiated Operation Shaban following an attack on the Mangi Dam Police Station.

Counterterrorism operations are continuing in several areas, including Killi Kundi Umrani, Khad Kocha and Mastung, where security sources said militants had suffered heavy losses.

The state refers to members of the banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) and other militant groups operating in the province as Fitna al-Hindustan.

According to the sources, security forces destroyed multiple militant hideouts and ambush positions during the operations and recovered weapons and explosive materials from the sites.

The latest operations follow a separate attack in Mastung, where unidentified gunmen opened fire on a vehicle carrying members of the judiciary. A district and sessions judge and his security guard were killed, while an additional sessions judge and another individual sustained serious injuries.

Security sources said operations would continue until militant networks are dismantled and peace and stability are restored across the province.
