Iran Denies Reports of US Technical Talks in Doha This Week

Jarida Report

Iran’s Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi said on Monday that no technical talks with the United States are scheduled to take place in Doha this week, rejecting media reports that negotiations would resume on Tuesday.

According to Iran’s state news agency IRNA, Gharibabadi said reports of technical working-group meetings between Tehran and Washington in the Qatari capital “are not confirmed.”

“Technical meetings of the working groups are not scheduled for this week,” he said.

Gharibabadi added that consultations with Qatar were continuing as usual, including discussions on the implementation of US commitments under the recently signed memorandum of understanding.

“Although consultations with Qatar – including on following up on the implementation of the other party’s commitments – are ongoing as usual, the news from some media outlets that technical talks by the working groups will be held in Doha cannot be confirmed,” he said in a statement posted on Telegram, according to Al Jazeera.
