Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan and his wife, Bushra Bibi, underwent detailed medical examinations at Adiala jail in Rawalpindi, according to sources.
A special medical team from the Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS), including Dr Muhammad Ali, Dr Arif and other medical personnel, visited the prison to assess the couple’s health.
The doctors examined Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi separately, conducting follow-up assessments and several medical tests as part of the examinations.
Sources said the medical team completed its assessments and subsequently departed from Adiala jail.
No official details regarding the findings of the examinations or the couple’s current medical condition were immediately disclosed.
Meanwhile, Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi, was transferred back to Kot Lakhpat jail on Friday after undergoing medical tests at the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore.
She had been taken to hospital after complaining of chest pain, prompting doctors to carry out several examinations to assess her condition.
Following the medical evaluation, she was returned to prison.
The developments come amid continued attention to the health and medical care of Imran Khan and members of his family while in custody.
