US President Donald Trump stated that by his decision to launch a military operation against Iran he saved Israel from potential destruction.
“If it weren’t for me, there would no longer be any Israel,” Trump said in an interview with the New York Post.
He added that the decision to start the military operation against Iran was made solely by himself. Trump rejected suggestions that the US was drawn into this conflict by Israel.
“It was I who started this. And I started this because we cannot allow them (Iran – ed.) to possess nuclear weapons,” Trump stated.
