At an emergency summit in Copenhagen, European Union leaders debated building a continent-wide “drone wall” after a series of incursions disrupted airports and rattled public confidence. The plan would deploy sensors, anti-drone systems and weapons to detect and neutralise hostile aircraft, seen as part of Moscow’s hybrid war strategy. While Denmark stopped short of directly blaming Russia, many leaders pointed to a pattern of brazen violations—from drones over Poland to fighter jets in Estonian skies.
Alongside defence measures, the EU also weighed using frozen Russian assets to fund Ukraine, drawing sharp condemnation from the Kremlin, which labelled the move “theft.”
