Erdogan Says Ankara NATO Summit to Showcase Alliance Experience

Jarida Report

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Monday that the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara on July 7-8 will provide the “strongest platform for sharing experience” among alliance members.

Speaking at a luncheon for NATO parliamentary speakers in Istanbul, Erdogan said Türkiye would share with its allies both its extensive experience within NATO and its ability to manage regional crises.

He noted that Türkiye is increasing its defence spending and ranks among the top five contributors to NATO missions and operations, in line with commitments made at the 2025 Hague Summit.

Erdogan stressed that maintaining NATO’s deterrence and strengthening solidarity among allies have become increasingly important amid the current security environment.

He also called for the establishment of an “unconditional” security and defence network across the alliance, stretching “from Texas to Ankara.”
