On Monday, Colombia said it has recalled its ambassador from Washington after US President Donald Trump said he would raise tariffs on the nation and cease all payments to it. Trump also called Gustavo Petro, the Colombian President, an “illegal drug leader”
The Colombian Foreign Ministry said, “Daniel Garcia-Pena, Ambassador of Colombia in the United States of Amercia, has been recalled for consultations by President Gustavo Petro and is now in Bogota. In the coming hours the national government will inform of the decisions taken.”
