Cardinal Joseph Coutts holds meeting with Rev. Javed Yousaf in Long Island, New York in which the topic of free and fair journalism was discussed. Both of these revered figures look forward to support and expand this intiative and have expressed high hopes of seeing this cause take roots and grow.
Cardinal Joseph Coutts is one of Pakistan’s most respected Catholic leaders and a prominent advocate for interfaith harmony. Born in Amritsar in 1945 and ordained a priest in Lahore in 1971, he served as Archbishop of Karachi from 2012 to 2021. Elevated to the College of Cardinals by Pope Francis in 2018, he has dedicated his life to promoting peace, dialogue and the rights of religious minorities, and was awarded Pakistan’s Hilal-i-Imtiaz in 2024 for his distinguished service.
