Federal Minister Amir Muqam: Negotiations with Afghanistan Fall Under Federal Jurisdictiono

Federal Minister for States and Frontier Regions, Kashmir Affairs, and Gilgit-Baltistan, Amir Muqam, stated that negotiations with Afghanistan are within the federal government’s jurisdiction, not the provincial government’s. He emphasized that if a province wishes to engage with a foreign nation, it should forward its request to the federal government, as provincial-level negotiations lack the authority to implement such commitments. Muqam also criticized Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur’s recent announcement to send a delegation to Afghanistan, asserting that such actions fall outside the provincial government’s domain.
