Two Police Trainees Die at Quetta Training College, Several Others Hospitalised

Jarida Report

wo trainee police officers have died in separate incidents at the Police Training College in Quetta, while several others reportedly lost consciousness or required medical attention, according to ARY News.

The incidents occurred over two days, raising concerns about the health and wellbeing of recruits undergoing training at the facility.

Initial reports indicated that six trainees had fallen unconscious, with four subsequently transferred to hospital for treatment.

However, police officials disputed suggestions that the incidents were linked to food poisoning, maintaining that the two deaths resulted from separate cardiac emergencies.

According to the administration of Sheikh Zayed Hospital, both deceased trainees suffered heart attacks.

A police department spokesman identified the deceased as Samiullah, a resident of Sherani district, and Mirza Khan, from Zhob district.

Samiullah reportedly suffered a fatal cardiac episode on November 5, while Mirza Khan experienced a heart attack on November 7.

“It is wrong to call the training college incidents as food-poisoning,” the police spokesman said, rejecting speculation about a possible common cause.

The spokesman further clarified that five trainee officers had been admitted to hospital as a precaution after experiencing elevated blood pressure.
